Disney villains
Passion project
These are portrait studies of three villains: the Evil Queen, Maleficent, and Ursula. Not for a client, not for a brief, just because villains are more interesting than heroes and I wanted an excuse to explore character illustration.
The challenge was making each feel distinct while maintaining a cohesive visual approach—different personalities, same design language. Evil Queen: regal, cold, vain. Maleficent: powerful, sharp, commanding. Ursula: theatrical, cunning, larger-than-life. Speculative work like this does two things: it builds skills you don't get to use on client projects, and it attracts the kind of work you actually want to do. Sometimes the best portfolio pieces are the ones nobody asked for.
