Creatives for Climate - For The Love Of Bees

I joined Creatives for Climate early—back when it was still figuring out what it wanted to be. A global network of creative professionals mobilizing for climate action. Pro bono, grassroots, powered entirely by people who were tired of making luxury brands look good and wanted to do something that mattered. The work was volunteer. The deadlines were "whenever you can get to it." And somehow that meant everyone cared *more*, not less.

Because if you want people to actually take action on climate, guilt doesn't work. But making them feel like they're part of something hopeful? That works. So we created a beautiful and heart warming campaign. One that'd capture the viewers attention and hopefully have them act for the good of everyone. This campaign was fun to make—genuinely fun. Just: does this make people care about bees? Yes? Good.

Look, I'm not going to pretend that designing a campaign for a climate collective is going to single-handedly solve global warming. It won't. But here's what it does: it gives organizations fighting for real change the visual tools they need to compete for attention in a world where fossil fuel companies have billion-dollar ad budgets and most climate NGOs are running on grants and good intentions. Creatives for Climate is now a network of 7,000+ creative professionals across 90 countries. They're running courses, building agency alliances, shifting how brands think about sustainability. And at the beginning, when it was just getting started? A few designers made some posters about bees. Sometimes that's how movements grow—one colorful campaign at a time.
